Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean-Emmanuel Ouédraogo inaugurated the Faso-Kéoogo public school complex in Bonheur-Ville, in the 7th arrondissement of Ouagadougou, on Monday, October 12, 2026. Funded by the state to the tune of over one billion CFA francs, the school already has 1,453 students enrolled.
Built on an area of 35,384 m², the complex includes a four-story educational building with 16 classrooms and restrooms adapted for people with reduced mobility. Three schools, Faso-Kéoogo-Bonheur-Ville C, D, and E, are grouped together there, with 32 teachers for the 2026-2027 school year.
Developed as part of the Presidential Initiative for Quality Education for All (IPEQ), this infrastructure aims to meet the needs of an area experiencing rapid population growth, while optimizing available space.
During the inauguration, the head of government stressed that the transformation of the school is not based solely on infrastructure, but also on improving the content and quality of training.
Fifteen other similar school complexes are planned in fifteen provinces. The lessons learned from this first project should help improve future buildings, which are expected to have 18 classrooms, with the possibility of expansion to 24.
