Tunisia: Army mobilized in response to water cuts

Tunisia is facing severe disruptions in its drinking water supply. To meet the needs of the affected populations, the authorities have mobilized the army, the National Guard, and the Civil Protection to ensure water delivery in several regions.

Water tanks are being used to supply areas affected by water cuts, as high temperatures increase the need for water.

This situation arises against a backdrop of persistent tensions over the country's water resources. Several regions regularly experience distribution disruptions, causing difficulties for households and economic activities.

In response to this situation, the authorities have also stepped up their operations to monitor the distribution of bottled water. Stocks stored in warehouses deemed to be operating illegally have been seized, while additional quantities have been injected into the distribution network.

The mobilization of security forces and emergency services reflects the scale of the supply difficulties, as Tunisia seeks to guarantee regular access to drinking water in the most affected areas.
