The Constitutional Council opened its hearing on the post-election dispute in Yaoundé on October 22. Eight petitions were filed by opposition parties, civil society actors, and independent candidates, calling for the total or partial annulment of the October 12 presidential election, which they believe was marred by irregularities.
Under the presidency of Clément Atangana, the court dismissed several appeals, deemed inadmissible or outside its jurisdiction. According to Équinoxe Télévision, the complaints filed by Martine Essono, Mbah Arnaud Myril, and Bertin Kisob were dismissed due to the applicants' lack of standing and failure to comply with legal deadlines.
Meanwhile, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, president of the Cameroon National Salvation Front (CNSF) and the declared winner, indicated that he would not refer the matter to the Constitutional Council, saying he did not trust its impartiality.
The President of the Council also announced that the formal session to proclaim the official results of the presidential election will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 11 a.m., at the institution's headquarters in Yaoundé.
