Despite the challenges, producers in Yagha are continuing their agricultural and pastoral activities. In Sebba, in the Liptako region, 1,080 hectares have been sown for the 2026-2027 agricultural season, including 750 hectares dedicated to sorghum. These results were observed on Thursday, October 15, 2026, by the Minister Delegate for Animal Resources, Dr. Amadou Dicko, during a field visit.
State support also extends to agricultural equipment and livestock. In Sebba and Solhan, the tractors provided enabled the plowing of 144 hectares. In the livestock sector, 40 tons of subsidized animal feed were distributed, while 138 vulnerable households received recovery kits including breeding animals and poultry. Thirty cows also underwent a synchronization program to improve herd reproduction.
In Sagou, a 30-hectare lowland area has been developed for rice cultivation. Producers now wish to go further, with the construction of dams, the development of new areas for off-season crops, and the expansion of fish farming.
Commending the determination of the people, Dr. Amadou Dicko assured them that their grievances would be conveyed to the highest authorities. He also urged them to preserve social cohesion and strengthen their collaboration with the Defense and Security Forces.
