Concealed in bags aboard a freight vehicle, several cartons of cigarettes ultimately failed to reach their destination. In Dédougou, teams from the Bankui Regional Directorate of Industry, Trade and Crafts intercepted a shipment of contraband cigarettes estimated at nearly 3 million FCFA on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
The seized goods consisted of SIR KING SIZE brand cigarettes. Their concealment in the vehicle did not allow the authorities to evade detection.
This operation reinforces the actions carried out in the Bankui region to combat commercial fraud and preserve an environment favorable to operators who conduct their activities in compliance with regulations.
Those who commit this offense are subject to the penalties stipulated by current legislation. DRICA-Bankui also reiterates its call for vigilance and adherence to commercial regulations.
This seizure thus helps to protect the market against fraudulent circuits and to protect economic operators who legally carry out their activities.
