The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (CEMGA), Major General Moussa Diallo, was in Bobo-Dioulasso on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, for a visit to the 2nd Military Region. The focus of this tour was monitoring the security situation, strengthening the territorial network, and encouraging soldiers deployed in the field.

At the Tanguet-Ouattara military hospital, the Chief of the General Staff visited soldiers wounded in action. He conveyed to them the gratitude of the hierarchy and the Nation for the sacrifices made in the defense of the territory, as well as the message of solidarity and speedy recovery from the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

General Moussa Diallo then spoke with the young people of the Faso Mêbo Holiday Camp, particularly about patriotism, discipline and resilience.

The meeting with the commanders of the force deployed in the region also provided an opportunity to review ongoing operations and the challenges encountered. The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces emphasized the need to strengthen the security network to better cover the area.

At the end of his visit, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces said he was satisfied with the cohesion and determination of the units of the 2nd Military Region, while urging them to maintain their efforts for the restoration and stabilization of the region.
