The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa), supported by their partners, conducted several strikes against positions of armed terrorist groups in different areas of Mali, notably in Kidal, Dioura and in the San region, between Friday 11 and Sunday 13 September 2026. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces, these operations are part of Operation Dougoukoloko, which continues through actions of surveillance, reconnaissance and securing of the national territory.
On September 11, intelligence led to the location of several terrorist positions approximately 36 km southeast of Quélessébougou. The sites, where military and logistical equipment as well as several motorcycles were stored, were targeted.
The following day, the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) detected several elements of armed terrorist groups spread across different locations on the outskirts and within the city of Kidal. After confirming the intelligence, the identified positions were also struck.
In Dioura, air and ground operations continued on September 13. Several terrorist elements on motorcycles, who were trying to hide under vegetation cover southwest of the city, were spotted and then neutralized.
In the San region, two terrorist bases located near Ouan were also located and attacked. According to the Malian army, these bases housed military and logistical equipment.
Surveillance and reconnaissance operations are continuing in the affected areas to assess the effects of the strikes, establish a consolidated assessment and search for any remaining threats.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces reaffirms its commitment to continuing security operations throughout Mali and calls on the population to maintain their support for the forces involved.
