Guinea: Conakry redefines its diplomatic line

Guinea wants to give a new direction to its foreign policy. Conakry presented, on Wednesday, September 9, a new diplomatic doctrine aimed at better defending its interests in a world marked by profound changes.

This new approach emphasizes national sovereignty and freedom of decision-making. Guinea intends, in particular, to rely on a form of strategic neutrality, maintaining relations with various partners without aligning itself with any particular power.

The doctrine is based on eleven pillars. It gives significant importance to pan-Africanism and African integration, but also to the defense of Guinean interests abroad, peace and security.

Economic diplomacy also plays a central role. Diplomatic missions are called upon to contribute more to attracting investment, opening new markets, and developing partnerships that benefit the national economy.

Through this new doctrine, Conakry wants to make its diplomacy a lever of sovereignty, development and influence, while diversifying its partnerships in Africa and beyond.
