On October 20, 2026, the Bamako Urban Road and Sanitation Services Directorate (DSUVA) received equipment worth over 2,28 billion CFA francs. Funded with support from the World Bank through the Bamako Urban Resilience Project (PRUBA), this donation aims to strengthen waste collection and sanitation capacities in the Malian capital.
The lot includes collection trucks, skips, compactor skips and public works equipment intended to support the interventions of teams in the field.
The handover ceremony took place in the presence of several members of the Malian government, including the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, government spokesperson, Brigadier General Issa Ousmane Coulibaly.
He stressed the need to ensure optimal use of equipment in order to improve the cleanliness of Malian cities.
Beyond this acquisition, the challenge remains the effective management, maintenance, and deployment of the equipment in the areas most in need. The impact of this investment will therefore depend on the DSUVA's ability to translate these new resources into concrete improvements in the living conditions of Bamako's residents.
