The Head of State of Mali, General Assimi GOÏTA, received on Tuesday at the Koulouba Palace an important delegation from the Russian Federation led by the Deputy Minister of Defense.

This meeting is part of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Mali and Russia, on the occasion of the Bamako International Defence and Security Exhibition (BAMEX 2025), organised from 11 to 14 November 2025 in Bamako.

The discussions focused on military cooperation between the two nations and joint efforts in the fight against terrorism.

The Russian delegation conveyed messages of solidarity and support from the Russian government and people to President Goïta, while reaffirming Moscow's commitment to supporting Mali in consolidating its national security.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to a partnership based on mutual trust, respect for sovereignty and the promotion of sustainable cooperation in the service of peace and stability.

This partnership is strongly focused on combating terrorism in the Sahel-Saharan region. Russia has confirmed its intention to continue providing the Malian army with the necessary assistance in terms of equipment, training, and military-technical cooperation.
