Since the beginning of the week, Guinea has been the focus of attention on the African continent. The mass expulsion of foreigners, which has sparked numerous reactions, has not left Africans indifferent.
Among those affected by these expulsions are also Burkinabe nationals, forcibly removed from the gold mining sites where they carried out their activities.
The images of our compatriots forced to leave the premises, their bundles in hand and despair on their faces, quickly prompted a reaction from the Burkinabe authorities, who were quick to take charge of the situation.
According to the Burkina Faso news agency, the government has taken measures to ensure the return, in "dignity and decency", of thousands of its nationals expelled from the sister Republic of Guinea.
Moreover, a government delegation is expected in Mali this Wednesday, November 4, 2026, in order to provide the necessary assistance to the compatriots concerned, "currently in a situation of distress".
The Burkinabe authorities are also calling on the population to remain calm and restrained, while urging them not to give in to manipulation and disinformation.
